12,000 square feet
2015
Approximately 12,000 square feet of exterior curtainwall, large-format sliding doors, point-loaded cable-supported glazing, glass elevator surround, and interior and exterior glass handrails
This landmark custom residence in Kelowna, BC sits dramatically above Okanagan Lake, with a glazing package designed to dissolve the boundary between interior living spaces and the surrounding landscape. The home’s principal living level is defined by expansive floor-to-ceiling curtainwall on multiple elevations, framing unobstructed lake and valley views from the open-plan kitchen, dining, and living areas.
Vision West supplied and installed approximately 12,000 sq. ft. of glazing across the property, encompassing thermally broken exterior curtainwall, large-format sliding doors at the pool and terrace level, and a glass elevator surround spanning multiple floors. At the main entrance, Vision West installed a point-loaded cable-supported glazing system — a technically demanding assembly requiring precise tension calibration and hardware coordination. Interior and exterior glass handrails are installed throughout the property, including the rooftop terrace and stair assemblies.
